Planning the opening animation of my e-newspaper

Now that I had a vector logo that I liked, I wanted to see how I could experiment with animation. For animation I already decided that I wanted;
- simple movement
- slow, casual pace (no sudden gestures)
- 10 seconds or less

Animation 1 - (thumbnails 1-3)

In this animation the A and the N separate horizontally. The A and N would move simultaneously away from one another. The remainder of the words would then fade in to create the full logo. Although it is a very simple animation, that is all I require for the start of the e-newspaper.

Animation 2 - (thumbnails 4-6)

In this animation the A and the N separate vertically. This idea consists of only the A moving upwards, with the N staying in its initial spot. The A would end up resting ontop of the left left leg of the N and then the remainder of the words would fade in together at the same time, as in animation 1.

Adapting Animation 1 due to tutor feedback

During a studio session, one of my tutors had a look at my initial ideas for my logo and thought that my first two ideas were connected. He thought that the A would swivel along the Z-axis to reflect onto the outside of the N. After hearing this, I thought this was a great idea to implement. Especially as having the A flip to the left, would resemble to opening of a book - perfect for the start of the e-newspaper.

Storyboarding my animation

After getting feedback from my tutors, I decided to go with my first animation idea, but combining it with the opening book animation that my tutor pick up on. This is how I want my final animation to turn out.
